Judiciary The appeal against the unconstitutionality of the First and Second Amendments of the Elections Law is rejected

The Federal Court rejected two appeals challenging the constitutionality of the first and second amendments to the Parliamentary Elections Law.

A source said the court rejected the appeal, confirming the constitutionality of the two amendments in the said law.

The House of Representatives has voted on the first amendment to the law of elections of the Iraqi Council of Representatives No. (45) for 2013, "which concerns that the candidate for parliamentary membership holds a bachelor's degree or equivalent.

The parliament also voted on the second amendment to the law of the elections of the House of Representatives, among the parliamentary source that the amendment includes that 20% of the members of the House of Representatives next of the holders of a preparatory certificate or equivalent.
