Arab Monetary Fund discusses lending, investment and financial performance
The 110th Ordinary Session of the Board of Directors of the Arab Monetary Fund will be held on Thursday at the headquarters of the Arab Monetary Fund in Abu Dhabi.
"The agenda of the Board includes a discussion of developments in the Fund's activities during the first quarter of 2018, particularly lending, investment and financial performance, as well as capacity-building activities (aid, technical and training)," the IMF said in a statement. Within the framework of the five-year strategy (2015-2020) of the Fund.
"In the area of lending, the topics to be reviewed by the Council include the new loans provided by the Arab Monetary Fund in response to the requests of its Member States and their efforts to strengthen financial conditions and implement economic and financial reform programs, as well as the consultation missions of the Fund to Member States, Concerned with reform programs, supported by new IFAD loans, or to follow up on the implementation of agreed economic and financial reform programs supported by loans contracted with IFAD. "
The agenda also includes reviewing the technical support provided by the Arab Monetary Fund to its Member States, the training opportunities and workshops provided to Arab cadres in the official economic, financial and statistical institutions in the Arab countries through its Economic Policy Institute during the first quarter of the year. 2018 ".
He pointed out that the Board will review during the meeting the developments of the investment activity of the Fund relating to the acceptance of deposits from central banks and Arab monetary institutions, the performance of investment portfolios, and developments in global financial markets.
On the other hand, will be presented to the Council the distinguished Arab Monetary Fund 's activities in the framework of his Technical Secretariat of theBoard of Governors of the central banks and the Arab Monetary, as well as theCouncil of Arab Ministers of Finance; as well as the activities of the Fund in theframework of the initiatives of "financial inclusion in the Arab countries ( FIARI ) , And "Arab Statistics" ( ARABSTAT ), whose technical secretariat is administered by the Fund.
