News / Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Abadi announced on Tuesday the date of payment of salaries of employees of the Kurdistan Region.

Abadi told the weekly press conference that "the date of payment of salaries of employees of the Kurdistan region will be before the feast of Nooruz."

He added that "the system of employees and their lists in the Kurdistan Region is different from the information system in the rest of Iraq," noting that "we do not have official statistics on the staff of Kurdistan, both in terms of preparation or data."

Abadi continued, "We seek not to keep more than the salary of the employees of the Kurdistan Region, similar to what is happening in Baghdad."

He pointed out that "Kurdistan exports daily more than 300 thousand barrels of oil, and this constitutes about 10% of Iraq's oil exports," adding that "the provincial government will bear part of the salaries of employees of Kurdistan."

Abadi pointed out about six months ago to close the salaries of employees of the Kurdistan Region, but without actual application on the ground, according to officials cord.
