    The Council of Ministers approved the initiative of the Information and Communication Authority to launch the project "Dom 2025", while the Authority indicated that the project will set the general strategic framework for the advancement of the ICT sector and overcome obstacles to the development of this vital sector. 

    "The Council of Ministers approved at its weekly meeting on Tuesday the initiative of the Information and Communication Authority to launch the Dom 2025 project," the authority said in a press release. "The project will set the general strategic framework for the advancement of the ICT sector, Stands in front of the development of this vital sector and keep abreast of the rapid and dramatic developments taking place in the same way as developed countries and neighboring countries that preceded Iraq by offering initiatives in the field of telecommunications and information technology. "

     
    She added that "this initiative is the outcome of a continuous effort made by the Information and Communications Authority in cooperation and consultation with the advisers of the Prime Minister in order to successfully launch the initiative for the years 2018-2025 dubbed the name Du3M where the word Du3 means" build "in Sumerian and M from the word Future, The vision in the project called building the future of communications, "noting that" the outcome of the expected results of the implementation of this initiative are summarized in several key axes, notably, the recovery of the Iraqi economy by raising the level of the index of gross domestic product (GDP).
     
    "The studies showed that the revival of the ICT sector contributes to the increase of (0.6% -1%) of the national income, in addition to the development of other service sectors such as health, education, agriculture, banking and trade by activating e-commerce services, e-marketing, e-health, e-education, e-money and other electronic services. " 

    The Authority said that "the initiative will contribute to the development of the skills of cadres and benefit from the expertise of international bodies and encourage investment and create job opportunities and reduce the unemployment rate and increase the culture and awareness of the community of the importance of this sector," explaining that "

     
    In order to ensure the success of this initiative, the Commission submitted a formal request to the Council of Ministers to obtain a decision to declare and implement this initiative because of its importance and role in enhancing the status of Iraq regionally and internationally and the economic and cultural benefit of the society. To address relevant international organizations to seek support and benefit from their expertise such as ITU, World Bank, GSMA, ICAN, SAMENA, RIPE and other UN organizations. "
