Prime Minister Haider Abadi stressed the importance of women playing a fundamental role in building, reconstruction, confrontation and leadership, pointing out that the current laws in Iraq give women broad powers to participate in the political process.
"The Da'ashi project has failed in Iraq and there are societies that want women to have secondary roles, but they are equal with men and we want them to play a fundamental role," Abbadi said in a speech during the central celebration of International Women's Day.
