[ltr]The leaders of the "popular crowd" welcomed the order issued by Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi on Thursday, equating his salary in terms of salaries of army and police officers, but demanded the confirmation of the real number of members of the crowd and refused to dissolve the security establishment.[/ltr]
[ltr]"The decision of Abadi on the popular mobilization is equal to salary and not integration into the security establishment," the official Al-Sharq al-Awsat newspaper quoted the official spokesman of Asaib Ahl al-Haq as saying. "Abadi's step is positive, .[/ltr]
[ltr]"We have observations on this, which is to fix the actual number of popular mobilization forces, as it is not mentioned in the statement issued by Abadi and therefore we are with the actual number is confirmed because the actual number is 140 thousand, while the register of them 122 thousand fighters and therefore requires at least to fix this figure."[/ltr]
[ltr]He pointed out that "the risks are still on" and "we have realistic indicators of that, as we see the events in Samarra and Mosul and there are large areas still need fighters who occupy them."[/ltr]
[ltr]"We are not with the integration of the crowd in the ministries of defense and interior because that means dissolving them, which is not true, as we see that the morale of the popular crowd was the main cause of the coup."[/ltr]
[ltr]Al-Aboudi said that "the leaders of the popular popular crowd supported the activation of the fifth paragraph of the popular mobilization law, which separates the military and political sides."[/ltr]
[ltr]On the nature of the representation of the crowd, Aboudi said, "The existing number of 122 thousand, of which 30 thousand belong to a Sunni tribal crowd as well as other numbers of other components, including Christians and Yezidis."[/ltr]
[ltr]Yazin al-Jubouri, one of the leaders of the Sunni tribal crowd in Salahuddin province, told the newspaper that "Abadi's decision should have been made a year ago because the real crowd fighters fought like other security forces, so their equality with salaries and privileges is necessary."[/ltr]
[ltr]He pointed out that "the numbers of Sunni masses are correct as a proportion, but most of these numbers were given in the form of quotas by the Prime Minister Abbadi to politicians and not granted to the real parties that fought a supporter."[/ltr]
