BEIJING (Reuters) - The country's finance ministry has admitted to correcting documents on selling land at a much lower price to an educational institution linked to Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's wife, media reported on Monday.
"The reality of the correction of these documents may become an argument for the opposition to call for the resignation of Finance Minister Taro Aso, the closest partner of Shinzo Abe," Kyodo said.
The agency quoted a source in the government as saying that "the correction of documents was made last year by order of the leadership of the ministry and before referring them to parliament."
