    Hassan Khomeini, grandson of former Iranian leader Ayatollah Khomeini, criticized the suppression of popular protests in the country, warning of the fall of the regime if he did not listen to the demands of the people. 

    Khomeini's grandson said in an interview with the Arman newspaper: "There is a weak economic class in the country suffering from negligence and non-responsiveness of officials with its demands, which could lead to the collapse of the regime in Iran." 

    "Today, we have a weak economic class whose size and demands are not political, but these non-political or non-cultural demands, if not responded to, can cause a state of frustration and disappointment in society and create the ground for either the collapse of the regime or the control of the government," Khomeini said. Populist, authoritarian, repressive and evasive violence that is used intensively and lasts only for a short time. "

    Khomeini's grandson explained: "If the regime fails to meet the demands of the masses and the weak class will rule the populist populist country, then the populist government will be able to put down the rebellion and the riots. The resources are distributed equally and not in reality, and things improve in the short term. Political and civil liberties, political independence, economic growth and long-term development are unknown and unclear. " 

    Hassan Khomeini is considered a figure of the moderate and close to the reformists, who refused his authority by the Guardian Council to nominate him in the elections of the members of the Assembly of Experts. Rafsanjani sought to present him as an alternative to the leadership of the country and fiercely defended him to be a member of the Assembly of Experts to replace the Supreme Leader in the future.
