According to the source «US forces will be present in a number of areas of the province, the most important Mosul airport, and also in the area of ​​Hammam al-Alil, in addition to the west of the city».
He also said in a press statement that «the mission of the basic rule will be to support Iraqi forces in the maintenance of security, in addition to training for soldiers and new volunteers as they have done previously». 
He explained that al-Qaeda «will deal with the Iraqi army forces in terms of support and training and rehabilitation and the provision of some pieces of weapons and military equipment, and this is one of the tasks assigned to them that the presence of these forces and return to Iraq after the deterioration of the security situation and the control of armed groups on large areas of the country» .

The base is one of the most important military bases in Iraq because of its strategic importance and its important location between Mosul and Baghdad, 65 kilometers south of the city of Mosul near the oil-rich Qabayara and other minerals.
