China's Defense Ministry on Sunday expressed strong protest over the adoption by the United States of the "Taiwan Travel Law", which could be seen as an interference in its internal affairs and a threat to the development of relations between the Chinese and US armed forces.
The official representative of the Chinese Ministry of Defense, Wu Qian said in a statement, "The United States signed on March 16 lawmakers travel to Taiwan," noting that the Chinese armed forces strongly oppose this.
"This law is a serious violation of the one-China principle and the three Sino-US joint statements, as well as interfering with China's domestic policy, which is detrimental to the development of relations between the armed forces of the two countries," the defense ministry spokesman said.
"Taiwan is part of China and the Taiwan issue is related to China's internal affairs," Wu Qian stressed
