Iraqi forces and personalities have accused Iran of trying to annex three local provinces, Diyala, Wasit and Basra. These accusations come after Tehran has significantly strengthened its influence in these provinces, relying on its militias in Iraq.

Iraqi personalities have described Iran's penetration into the country's provinces as "quiet occupation."
Observers confirm that the penetration of Iran in Iraq appeared more and more, especially the military, which far exceeds what is announced much.

Through the popular mobilization militias, Tehran is penetrating, especially since some of its factions, such as the Badr militia, have been loyal to al-Faqih since the 1980s.
The commander of Iran's Revolutionary Guards, Mohammad Ali Jafari, admitted that it was not in his country's interest to be eliminated from the start of his formation, and acknowledged in his statements then that his country benefited from the emergence of a supporter to strengthen its influence in the region, to collect the armed factions loyal to them.
One of the signs of this penetration is the appearance of Iranian General Qassim Soleimani in several areas of Iraq during the fighting with a preacher.

Tehran has been accused of seeking to annex these three provinces to the borders of the Persian state, formally or unofficially.
In Diyala province, Tehran has succeeded for years under the rule of the godfather of its influence, Nuri al-Maliki, in directing the People's Mujahideen Organization from Camp Ashraf in Diyala.
Iran also oversaw the process of demographic change in the Sunni-dominated province, so that entire regions were emptied of its people.
The Wasit province overlapped its border with the Iranian region of Mehran, and became a point of strength intelligence and military Tehran has a large number of Badr militia led by Hadi Amiri.
In the same context, the ambitions of the system of Wali al-Faqih in the province of Basra back to the eighties of the last century.
Tehran occupied the peninsula in the province during the Iran-Iraq War, where the most violent clashes took place, before being liberated by the Iraqi army on 17 April 1988.

Today, FAO is like a military base for the most loyal militia movement of Iran among the popular crowd.
Basra has seen massive demonstrations against Iran, where the demonstrators accused Tehran of launching the worst attack on Basra by destroying it in preparation for the cut and attached to the Ahwaz Arab occupied.
Iran is also accused of impoverishing Basra and its population to force its own children to join the armed militias loyal to it, in addition to dumping the province drug trafficking.
The Basra and other dignitaries warn of the signing of any future government to understand or make a secret concession from the soil of the three provinces that have paid Iraq a heavy price to repel the Iranian aggression against it since the arrival of Khomeini to power.
