announced the director of the railway project in western Iran, Iran aspires to link the railway network of Iran with Iraq, noting that his country broke the record in the D railway within 6 months.

"The project starts from the city of Malair to Kermanshah with a length of 175 kilometers, and the foundation stone has been laid for the project since 2002," said project director Noureddine Kandmi on the sidelines of the opening of the railway between Kermanshah and Tehran. "The project was delayed because of the embargo and financial problems."

"During the past year and following the assistant minister of roads, and within 6 months we broke the record in the country in the extension of railways, in past years the record in Iran was 1700 meters per day, and this year we managed to record a record of nearly 2000 meters in Today".

"The project is of strategic importance in that it would link the Iranian and Iraqi railways at the border," he said.

Iraq seeks to modernize its railway and link it to neighboring countries to be a transit area from Asia to Europe.
