MP Zeinab al-Sahlani warned on Thursday that terrorists aim to keep the American side in Iraq under the pretext that Iraqi forces need the American side in the fight against terrorism.
"The Americans are providing arms to carry out terrorist attacks throughout the country, and therefore American arguments are convincing to stay in Iraq in order to support Iraqi forces in fighting terrorism," Sahlani said in a statement.
"The central government is determined to set a timetable for the exit of the Americans, especially after announcing the intention to remove the foreigner from the country," she said.
"The American plans are aimed at establishing permanent bases in Iraq under the pretext of defeating terrorist groups and supporting the Iraqi army to fight them," Sahlani said. Ending / 25 n
