How Abadi will deal with Bolton's plans

US President George W. Bush's national security adviser John Bolton supports the creation of a new "secular" Sunni state in Iraq that could be funded by Saudi Arabia.
On March 22, US President Donald Trump announced the appointment of John Bolton as national security adviser to replace Herbert McMaster. Bolton responded by announcing his acceptance.
John Bolton (born November 20, 1948) is an American lawyer and diplomat who served in several Republican administrations. Bolton was a strong supporter of the 2003 invasion of Iraq. He also said that "bombing is the only way to stop Iran's nuclear program.
Bolton's performance and ideas are expected to affect the situation in Iraq, especially in cases where Iran's influence is strongly present. Popular mobilization can also become a controversial issue, and US-Iraqi relations may be more broadly disrupted, including the financial side.
Counselor Bolton, a supporter of the independence of Kurdistan, is considered the Kurdistan Regional Government (specifically Massoud Barzani) Washington's only ally in Iraq, and was an outspoken critic of the US commitment to regional territorial integrity of Iraq.
Observers believe that the rise of Bolton could become Iraq once again arena for regional competition, and could suffer the Saudi-Iraqi rapprochement as a result.
Bolton believes that the creation of a new Sunni state in Iraq will hinder the creation of a Shiite control arc stretching from Iran through Iraq to Syria and Lebanon.
So far, Prime Minister Haider Abadi has been able to pursue a relatively balanced policy. But if Washington forces Baghdad to choose, this delicate balance is likely to stall.
In the wider Middle East, the influence of Bolton's appointment (along with Pompeo) is likely to be an escalation of tension in the region because of the direct impact of Washington's policy and its negative effects on the region.
There is a "fight" between Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed about who has the greatest "control" over Jared Kouchner, the son-in-law of US President Donald Trump, who is his adviser, the Vanity Fair magazine reported. In the White House.
"Since Trump took over the presidency of the United States, Kouchner has worked hard to establish a strong relationship with Bin Salman under a visible sign of the common quest for a solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, but the US Intercept website revealed that Prince The Saudi was proud to say "he has Kouchner in his pocket."
"Kouchner made an undeclared trip to Saudi Arabia last October and claimed that the purpose of his trip was to inform Bin Salman of a list of unfaithful princes who were subsequently arrested on orders from the Saudi Crown Prince in what he called the anti-corruption campaign" .
