A senior ADNOC distribution official in Abu Dhabi said the company will start operations in the Dubai market this year by opening three fuel stations and is also looking for a partnership to enter Saudi Arabia.
"We do not have a presence in Dubai, so if you are an ADNOC customer, you will not find this option in Dubai," John Cary, executive vice president, told Reuters after a shareholders meeting.
He added that the new locations in Dubai will be among the 13 sites the company plans to open gas stations in the UAE # this year, compared to 24 in 2017.
The listing of ADNOC shares last year after an IPO was a major step for ADNOC towards privatizing its assets.
Cary said ADNOC is in talks with partners to enter Saudi Arabia and is studying the franchise model.
"For me, it's less important about speed, but more important about the quality we're going to enter, ensuring that the supply we offer to Saudi Arabia is competitive, and the partners we work with have competitive capabilities."
Shareholders of ADNOC Distribution, the largest fuel distributor in the UAE, agreed to distribute cash dividends of AED 735 million ($ 200.1 million) at the company's first annual general meeting.
