    The American Stars and Stripes reported on Tuesday that a strike group from the US warship, led by the Harry Truman aircraft carrier, is heading for the Mediterranean Sea.
    The strike group will be launched on Wednesday from Norfolk, Virginia, to Europe and the Middle East, the newspaper said.
    According to the newspaper, the group will include the Normandy missile cruiser, the Arley Burke missile destroyers, Balckley, Forest Sherman and Faragot, to be joined later by Jason Dunam and Salifans.
    The newspaper said that the ships of the strike group carrying about 6,5 thousand soldiers, adding that it is planned to join the frigate "Hessen" German to the group.
    The US newspaper gave no details on the group's move to the Mediterranean.
    Earlier, the Wall Street Journal reported that a second US destroyer could enter the Mediterranean in the coming days, in addition to the current Donald Cook destroyer on average.
    The newspaper quoted US defense officials as saying: "The eastern Mediterranean is devastating" Donald Cook "rocket, and can participate in any strike on Syria Porter's destroyer should arrive in this area after several days.
    The Washington Post quoted a Pentagon source as saying that the destroyer Donald Cook left the port of Cyprus on Monday and set sail for Syria, noting that the ship was equipped with 60 Tomahawk winged missiles.
    The Turkish newspaper "Hurriyet" reported that Russian warplanes had flown over Donald Cook's destroyer at least four times, but the Pentagon later denied the reports.
    On Monday, US President Donald Trump accused Russia and Iran of backing Syrian President Bashar al-Assad over reports of a chemical attack carried out by the Syrian government army in the city of Douma in the Gaza Strip, killing 40 people.
    Trump said Washington had a wide range of military responses to the attack, adding that he would make a decision on the US response within a day or two.
