Kuwait Airways, through its official Twitter account, has announced that it will stop flights to Beirut from Thursday, April 12, until further notice.

The company attributed the reasons to "serious security warnings received from the Cypriot authorities the danger of flying in the atmosphere surrounding the Republic of Lebanon."

She pointed out that the decision comes from the premise that the company maintain the safety of passengers and the obligation of the company to implement the standards of security and safety.

The European Organization for Aviation Safety (Eurocontrol) on Wednesday called on airlines to be cautious in the eastern Mediterranean for possible air strikes in Syria within 72 hours.

Eurocontrol said it was possible to use air-to-surface missiles or cruise missiles or both with it during that period and there was a possibility that wireless navigation devices could be intermittently intermittent.

"Care should be taken when planning flight operations in the FIR of Nicosia," the organization said on its website.

The warning came after the UN Security Council failed to adopt any of the three draft resolutions it had been proposed to establish a mechanism to investigate chemical weapons in Syria, while attention was drawn to Washington, where President Donald Trump and his allies are expected to make a military strike.
