Pentagon: Our recent strikes have not changed the strategic balance in Syria
The Pentagon confirmed on Thursday that the strikes by the United States, Britain and France on Syria did not change the strategic balance in the country.
"I do not think that we are currently seeing changes in the strategic balance of the conflict because of these strikes. What we have done is teach a lesson to the Syrian authorities," US Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Kenneth McKinsey told a news conference.
McKinsey pointed out that "Western forces did not feel any threat by the Russians during the implementation of this strike," noting that "acted professionally and committed to the rules of navigation ... The Russians did not threaten the cruiser Donald Cook."
