"An incident that took place on the 29th of last month in which government officials carried the remains of about 80 bodies from a destroyed house in Mosul, which raised doubts about the disappearance of the features of mass murder," said Lama Fakih, deputy director of the Middle East division of the organization.
She noted: "The organization followed the file of this case, after I saw that the house was burned, then the Iraqi authorities at the site said that the remains belonged to persons suspected of belonging to the Dahesh."
"Officials from the Ministry of Health and the Interior were at the site, saying they were not allowed to know about the destination of the final bodies, and there was no sign of any investigation into those deaths," she said.
"Given the serious violations in the last weeks of the battle against Da'ash in the old city of Mosul, the location and the remains should have been preserved as possible evidence for the legitimate investigators," she said.
