{Baghdad: Al Furat News} The Electoral Commission revealed the use of electronic technology in the voting on the ballot for the elections of the House of Representatives scheduled for 12 May.


[ltr]A member of the Board of Commissioners spokesperson for the Commission Karim al-Tamimi said in a press statement that "the Commission and within its procedures to protect the electoral process from fraud, will be equipped polling stations electronic pens used for voting by voters."
 
He added that "this pen will be marked by the circle sign containing the logo of the Commission on the ballot, which excluded the reference to the right as in every electoral process."
 
Tamimi pointed out that "all these operations carried out by the Commission are to ensure the integrity of the electoral process and the delivery of the vote to the candidate who will choose on the day of the ballot."
 
He said that "the Commission issued a decision to punish 100 candidates divided between most of the coalitions and political parties, as well as about 25 political parties and alliances, financial penalties for violating the campaign system No. 11 of 2018."
 
Al-Tamimi pointed out that "the Commission warned the violators in case of repeated violation by the candidate or political alliance will be withdrawn from it," calling on political parties and candidates to "cooperate with the Commission and abide by its procedures and regulations in order to avoid the sanctions that may be issued in the event of repetition of the violation."
 
For his part, said the expert on electoral affairs Kataa Zobaie, "The electronic seal will reduce the fraud and manipulation of ballot papers and to prevent any doubts the voter to rig the electoral process in addition to the verification devices and accelerate the results."
 
"The seal is imported by a well-known Japanese company that manufactures such seals with a high degree of safety through ink, seal and stamp," Zobaie said in a press statement.

"The seal can not be erased from the ballot paper."
 
Al-Zobaie said that "the ballot paper, if marked with a stamp, can not be erased, in addition to the fact that it will go to the ballot box without any manipulation by any person." He directed his message to all voters "to participate in the electoral process and to elect the candidate who can achieve Aspirations of the people "
