The US Air Force announced that it successfully tested an intercontinental ballistic missile fired from the Vandenberg base in California.
"The Minuteman 3 missile has been launched in a reliable and specific test," Sky News quoted a US Air Force statement as saying.
"Despite the success of the experiment, the trial data and associated analyzes will not be published, this is the first experience of this year," he added.
"Despite the end of the Cold War, the United States still has hundreds of Minuteman 3 missiles spread across locations throughout the United States," the channel said.
The Air Force is scheduled to launch all these missiles in the next two decades and replace them with a new type of missile, now known as "ground strategic deterrence" or "GPSD," it said. Ending / 25 z
