    The Iraqi Foreign Ministry attaches importance to the North and South Korean rapprochement


    The Iraqi Foreign Ministry welcomed the "historic meeting" between the North and South Korean leaders, which resulted in the signing of a peace agreement between the two neighbors.
    "We hope that the two sides can take steps that contribute to enhancing security and stability on the Korean Peninsula and the world, and we are confident that understanding and reconciliation is the basis for peace," the foreign ministry said in a statement.
    "We hope that conflicts in the world will end and lead to a dialogue that establishes international security," she said.
    "The two sides affirmed that their common goal is to implement the process of complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula," Kim said. The South and the North agreed to take active steps to cooperate with the international community on the issue of denuclearization on the Korean peninsula. "
