US President Donald Trump said yesterday that he may go to Jerusalem to open the US embassy there.
"He may be going to Jerusalem, where the United States will transfer its embassy from Tel Aviv this month," Trump said in the White House.
The embassy is expected to open on May 14 at a temporary site while a permanent site is being built.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told Fox News earlier in an interview that he would like to visit Trump.
Last month, Trump also referred to the opening of the embassy after his decision to recognize the United States as Jerusalem, the capital of Israel, which angered the Arabs but strengthened his connection with Netanyahu
