    [ltr]Gold prices rose for a second session on Thursday as the Federal Reserve kept the interest rate unchanged as expected at the end of a meeting of the monetary policy committee of the board as investors awaited trade talks between China and the United States.[/ltr]
    [ltr]By 0705 GMT, spot gold rose 0.2 percent to $ 1307.05 an ounce. Gold futures for June delivery rose 0.2 percent to $ 1307.60 an ounce.[/ltr]
    [ltr]The US central bank kept interest rates unchanged at a target range of 1.50 to 1.75 percent after raising interest rates in March and is expected to raise it two more times this year.[/ltr]
    [ltr]Investors are also looking forward to Sino-US trade talks between US Treasury Secretary Stephen Menochin and Chinese Vice Premier Liu He-Dehua on Thursday.[/ltr]
    [ltr]At the same time, the World Gold Council said demand for gold hit the weakest start of the year in a decade as the price of precious metals stumbled and the possibility of raising interest rates led investors to seek better returns in other assets.[/ltr]
