[rtl]Agencies[/rtl]

[rtl]Real estate prices jumped in the Chinese city of Dandong, bordering North Korea after the visit of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un to China at the end of March. "[/rtl]

[rtl]The average real estate prices in Dandong City rose from 3,000 yuan (about 470 dollars) per square meter to 5,000 yuan (about 780 dollars), and in the city's neighborhoods prices have doubled, according to a study by the official newspaper Global Times.[/rtl]

[rtl]The real estate near the Yalu River between China and North Korea was the highest.[/rtl]

[rtl]The newspaper did not give a clear explanation for the sudden rise in property prices, but a real estate company operating in Dandong City said prices jumped after the Korean leader's visit to China on March 25-28, the first since 2011.[/rtl]

[rtl]While a Chinese official attributed the increase in the demand for real estate in the city to complete the implementation of several real estate projects in the city, pointing out that most buyers are local residents.[/rtl]

[rtl]Dandong City is the main gateway to North Korea, and a day-to-day basis for hundreds of tourists in the Yalo river cruising boats to take a quick look at another world. The boats are approaching meters from the Korean bank to allow citizens of the world's second economy to watch their neighbors in their impoverished country under sanctions to stop its missile and nuclear programs.[/rtl]

[rtl]The city of Dandong, in northeast China, links a "friendship" bridge with North Korea, which is isolated from the world. The bridge is meant to attract millions of Chinese tourists a year to explore their controversial neighbor.[/rtl]

[rtl]Dandong is also an important export port of Liaoning Province, connected by North Korea Railways, and the city remains an important industrial and commercial gateway.[/rtl]
