The US Department of Immigration and Customs has announced that the Hobby Lobby chain will return to Baghdad on Wednesday thousands of antiques illegally purchased earlier.
The Hobby Lobby, based in Oklahoma, will return 3,800 pieces of the more than 5,500 items it bought in 2010 for $ 1.6 million.
The artifacts to be returned include cuneiform tablets, cylindrical seals and clay tablets dating from 1600 to 2100 BC.
US authorities had earlier fined Hubei Lope three million dollars and committed them to return artifacts to Iraq.
