The US administration has decided to end the stay of about 90,000 Honduran immigrants living in the country for two decades and give them 18 months to leave if they can not obtain visas in other ways.
"The target group is the beneficiaries of the Temporary Migrant Protection Program, which has already come to the United States following Hurricane Mitch, which hit Honduras in 1998," local CNN reported.
The network said that "a declaration issued by the US Department of Defense, ended the temporary protection status of migrants from Honduras."
According to the same source, the US authorities will grant these immigrants, 18 months to leave the country, or work to find other ways to survive, if they can obtain visas in different ways.
With this decision, the number of people who have decided to stay in the United States since last year has risen to more than 425,000 who have lived in the country for decades.
Trump's decisions target some 60,000 immigrants from Haiti, 250,000 from Salvador, 90,000 from Honduras and 5,000 from Nicaragua, as well as 15,000 from Nepal, all beneficiaries of the Temporary Protection Program.
Reducing immigration, fighting illegal immigration and building a wall separating the United States and Mexico are among Trump's most promising promises during his campaign in 2016. End
