    Speaker of the House of Representatives Salim al-Jubouri on Sunday discussed with the US President's envoy the post-election phase and the joint cooperation between the two countries. The latter affirmed his country's continued cooperation with Iraq in combating terrorism and creating conditions for stability. 

    "During the meeting, the security and political situation in Iraq and the region was discussed, and the ways of continuing cooperation between Iraq and the states, " al-Jubouri said in a statement issued after receiving the special envoy of the American president to the international coalition against the organization. The United States in the fight against terrorism and the prosecution of gangs to encourage the criminal, and achieve peace and stability throughout the region. 
    Jubouri added that "the requirements of the next phase were discussed especially after the parliamentary elections and the necessity of cooperation and coordination between the parties and the political blocs in order to create a government capable of carrying out its responsibilities towards the people, providing services and improving the living conditions of citizens, "He said. 

    "The United States is keen to continue its cooperation with Iraq in the fight against terrorism and to work together to create conditions for stability and realize bilateral interests," McCork said. 

    The coalition of "national" led by Iyad Allawi, on Sunday, to cancel the results of the elections and re-conduct later to provide "appropriate conditions" and called for the maintenance of the current government to conduct business.

    Some 11 million Iraqis out of the 24 million eligible to vote on Saturday, to choose their representatives in the parliament, in the first elections in the country after the defeat of the organization of a call, and saw the lowest turnout. 

    According to UNHCR , the turnout was 44 percent, while the turnout of at least 60 percent in the elections since 2005 

    and fought more than 7 thousand candidates in 18 elections , the province this year , in order to win seats in parliament , which has 329 seats.

    The United States is keen to continue its cooperation with Iraq



    Speaker of the House of Representatives, Salim al-Jubouri, received on Sunday British President Donald H. Trump's envoy to the United States to discuss the post-election phase and joint cooperation between the two countries.


    "During the meeting, the security and political situation in Iraq and the region, ways of continuing cooperation between Iraq and the United States in the fight against terrorism and the pursuit of groups calling for criminalization and achieving peace and stability throughout the region, were discussed," Jubouri said in a statement issued by his office.

    The head of the National Alliance, Ammar al-Hakim, with the envoy of US President of the International Coalition, Bert McGurk, post-parliamentary elections and the formation of the next government.
    "Hakim and MacGurk discussed developments in the political and security situation in Iraq and the region and the electoral process that took place in Iraq yesterday," a coalition statement said. 
    Hakim pointed out that "holding the elections on time is an expression of the Iraqis' determination to consolidate their democratic system and their desire to build their future and their homeland." 
    He also stressed that "the next stage is the stage of the field and work to achieve the aspirations of Iraqis and the formation of a national majority government within the constitutional time." 
    Hakim stressed that "the decision should be an independent Iraqi decision that is not subject to any external influences," noting that "the stream of national wisdom will exercise its active positive role in ensuring the rapid formation of the government in accordance with constitutional frameworks and dictated by the interests of Iraq and the aspirations of his people."
