White House national security adviser John Bolton said US sanctions against European companies dealing with Iran are likely to be imposed after his country withdraws from the nuclear deal.
"It's possible, depending on the behavior of other governments," Bolton said during his hosting of the State of the Union program.
The comments by the national security adviser, after the announcement of the German Foreign Ministry, that Germany wants to help companies to continue their activities in Iran after the US decision to re-impose sanctions on Tehran, but may be difficult to protect them from any consequences.
