    [ltr]Turkish Foreign Minister Mouloud Gawishoglu on Thursday called on Foreign Minister Ibrahim Jaafari to attend an emergency summit of the Islamic Cooperation Council in Istanbul to contribute to finding steps to respond to Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people.[/ltr]
    [ltr]"Jaafari received a telephone call from his Turkish counterpart Oglu today, during which he discussed the developments in the Palestinian arena and the crimes committed by Israel against the Palestinian people," Jafari's media office said in a statement received by Mawazine News.[/ltr]
    [ltr]The Foreign Minister of Turkey, according to the statement, "invitation to Jaafari; to attend the emergency meeting of the Islamic Cooperation Council in Istanbul on Friday," stressing "the importance of Iraq's participation in meetings, and contribute to finding steps to respond to Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people."[/ltr]
    [ltr]"Congratulations on the success of the election season in Iraq," Oglu told Jaafari, wishing Iraq "more security and stability."[/ltr]
    [ltr]For his part, Jaafari stressed the need to "come out of the emergency summit of the Islamic Cooperation Council practical steps to overcome the plight of the Islamic nation, and face the Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people."[/ltr]
    [ltr]He pointed out, "Iraq's keenness on the active presence, and the formulation of positions that will alleviate the suffering experienced by the Palestinians."[/ltr]
