South Korea said on Friday its northern counterpart had refused to approve a list of southern journalists who had hoped to see the closure of its nuclear test site closed.
North Korea has invited a limited number of journalists from South Korea and other countries to witness what it says will be the closure of its only nuclear weapons test site, in Bongji-ri next week.
Pyongyang's offer to close the testing site was a major concession in months of tension between the two countries and South Korea and the United States.
But progress seems to have stalled in the past few days with North Korea's doubts about an unprecedented summit scheduled to take place in Singapore on June 12 between Kim Jong-un and US President Donald Trump, and with a halt to talks with the South.
South Korea's unity ministry said on Friday that Pyongyang had "declined to accept" a list of journalists provided by Seoul to attend the dismantling of the test site, Reuters reported.
The ministry did not give further details, but Pyongyang's decision would likely raise doubts about its plan for the test site
