The official news agency confirmed to the leader of the Sadrist movement Moqtada al-Sadr on Friday evening that the latter met with a group of ambassadors of the neighboring countries, namely the Ambassador of the Turkish Republic Fatih Yildiz, Jordanian Ambassador Montasser al-Zu'bi, Saudi Ambassador Abdul Aziz al-Shammari, Syrian Ambassador Sattam al-Dandah, The Time.
The statement quoted al-Sadr as saying during the meeting that the principle of our relations with neighboring countries is based on the basic principle that "neighboring countries are friends, not enemies" while calling for strengthening them more in the interests of peoples and their aspirations.
The statement added that Sadr "stressed the support of Iraq that" be strong, and hoped that Iraq is a comprehensive element of the region to bring peace and remove the specter of terrorism. "
The statement said that Sadr "confirmed that all events happening in neighboring countries to overshadow Iraq and vice versa, and wished the States to support Iraq in order to form a government of technocrats to be in the form of support, not interference, stressing that the decision of Iraq in his hand.
Informed sources had reported earlier in the day that the ambassadors of Iraq's neighbors in Baghdad, with the exception of the Iranian ambassador, had arrived in the holy city of Najaf to meet with the leader of the Sadrist movement Moqtada al-Sadr.
The sources told Ashqaf News that the ambassadors of Saudi Arabia, Syria, Jordan, Kuwait and Turkey had just arrived in the area of "Hanan" in Najaf, Sadr's residence.
The sources added that the ambassadors met with Sadr, who is scheduled to inform them of his intention to form the next federal government after the victory of the coalition supported by him in the recent legislative elections.
The delegation from Baghdad, the Iranian ambassador, has no clear indication of the depth of the intersection between Sadr and Tehran officials who seek to form their allies in Baghdad next government.
Al-Sadr had published a tweet on social networking sites Twitter, at dawn on Friday wrote that "neighboring countries are friends, not enemies."
According to press reports, Iran is trying to prevent the young Shiite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr form the next Iraqi government.
Preliminary results at the level of Iraq showed a surprise victory for the Sason coalition, which backs Shi'ite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr, who did not ally with Iran and campaigned on a national program, capitalizing on public discontent over widespread corruption and social strife.
Formal talks to form a governing coalition will begin after final results are announced next week.
