[ltr]/ Mawazine News / received a document showing the preparation of the parliament for a proposal to go to cancel the election results and resolve the Electoral Commission and the assignment of judges to supervise the elections to be conducted simultaneously with provincial elections.[/ltr]
[ltr]The proposed law includes two articles, the first of which includes six paragraphs, including "the abolition of the elections of the House of Representatives, which was held on 12/5/2018, to be held on the date of provincial elections on 22/12/2018."[/ltr]
[ltr]It also included "the assignment of nine districts through the Supreme Judicial Council to assume the powers of the Council of the Commission in the Independent High Electoral Commission and a judge for each election office in the province from 1/7/2018 and until the final results of the elections by the Federal Court."[/ltr]
[ltr]It also included "the abolition of the work of the acceleration of the results and the counting and sorting manually," the article stressed in its fifth paragraph on "the dismissal of the members of the Electoral Commission."[/ltr]
[ltr]Observers and legal experts disagreed with the validity and constitutionality of this proposal in what is seen as a step that may complicate the political scene in Iraq as it did not include an answer to the fate of the current parliament from 1/7/2018 until the date of the elections as the current parliament expires on July 1, Will enter a political vacuum without a parliament.[/ltr]
