The adviser to the Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Mohammed Saleh's appearance on Monday that customs are not collected properly, noting that the exemptions estimated at 3 billion dollars annually.

"The customs are not properly levied because of poor discipline," Saleh said in an Iraqi television program broadcast by Al-Sumeriya channel. "Customs exemptions for goods are estimated annually at 3 billion dollars."




Saleh said that "customs control in front of large imports, it will get $ 8 billion is equivalent to the cost of debt service, which was placed in the budget."

The border crossings authority considered (May 14, 2018) that Iraq is losing billions a month because of the "port corruption", while confirming the presence of intention to demonstrate in the port of Umm Qasr by some traders and importers.
