    Information / Baghdad ..
The Ministry of Water Resources on Sunday stressed the need to dig wells in different areas of Iraq, which suffers from water shortages, stressing the continuation of its work in the drilling until the end of its plan to combat drought until next winter.
The adviser to the Minister of Finance, Zafer Abdullah, said in a statement to Al-Maaloumah that "the ministry is continuing its plan to dig wells throughout Iraq, especially in areas that suffer from water scarcity." He explained that his ministry "has dug many wells in the central and southern governorates, Where dug more than 500 wells in Baghdad, in addition to digging a group of wells in the district of Abu Ghraib west of Baghdad. "
Abdullah added that "the ministry is seeking to eliminate the water scarcity during the summer to winter, where a plan has been developed for that purpose, by digging wells in the agricultural areas that dried up rivers and moorings."
"Water from the wells can be used to irrigate farmland and may be used in some areas for drinking after it is introduced into water sterilizers," he said. "Drinking water is guaranteed to citizens throughout Iraq." Ending / 25 n
