Gold falls for a second day as the dollar holds close to its highest level 8187

Gold prices fell for a second consecutive session on Monday as the dollar held close to a six-month high, limiting gold's chances of recovery.
The dollar fell slightly against the start of the week to trade near a six-month high Friday, which added to the negative pressure on gold to continue to decline for a second session in a row.
On the other hand, the demand for safe haven in the financial markets fell after optimism about the return of the upcoming summit between President Donald Trump and his North Korean counterpart came after Trump announced the cancellation of the summit last week.
Asian equities fluctuated during today's session, but the indices tended to rise, causing gold levels to be a safe haven and alternative investment in the markets.
Gold prices traded at $ 1298.25 per ounce after hitting a low of $ 1296.41 an ounce and opened today's session at $ 1299.49 an ounce, reaching a high of $ 1299.89 an ounce.
