Information / Baghdad ..
The Vice President of the Republic, Iyad Allawi, on Wednesday, praised the decisions of the Council of Ministers to vote on the decisions of the Committee formed to follow up the electoral violations, describing it as a "great step" to maintain the integrity of the electoral process and uncover the blatant violations experienced by the parties behind them.
"We were the first to demand full judicial supervision over the election file instead of adopting politicization and quotas in the selection of the Commission, which proved the facts and events of its failure to manage the electoral process," Allawi said in a statement.
Allawi called on the House of Representatives to "mobilize efforts to accelerate the vote on the amendment of the election law and strengthen the decision of the Council of Ministers."
He urged the need to "deal with the decisions of the Council of Ministers and provide those involved in the crimes of corruption and electoral fraud to receive their fair compensation," warning that "any slowdown in the implementation of those decisions will have negative repercussions on the overall political process." Ending / 25
