    Baghdad-time

    The planning Ministry said Tuesday that it will apply the customs tariff system from 2 second Canton.

    Planning Minister Ali Shukri for "time", "customs tariff will include luxury items and all secondary materials that have no prejudice on the lives of citizens."

    El shukrijumah said that "implementation will be as of January 2, 2014.

    Iraq imposes tariffs of 80% on imported liquor



    TUESDAY, 10 JANUARY 1 / DECEMBER 2013 18:51

    Twilight News / Iraqi Cabinet decided Tuesday to impose customs duties on the import of liquor by 80 percent from their prices apply from the beginning of next year.

    This reflects the high proportion apparently went to the extent of the country to import liquor, which is consistent with the vision already dominant Islamist parties leading Iraq from the Shiite and Sunni sects.

    He said Planning Minister Ali Shukri told a news conference in Baghdad attended by "Twilight News" The Council of Ministers decided in its regular day to impose tariffs gradually starting from the second of January next for the protection of national production and supporting the private sector.

    The decision includes luxury materials and secondary schools, with the exception of food, clothing and construction materials that go into local industries and agricultural materials and any material relating to the lives of citizens, according to Shukri.

    The Iraqi government did not apply the tariff law passed by the House in 2010, to now, and the decision to adopt the U.S. civil governor Paul Bremer provides for the imposition of customs duties by 5 percent on all materials.

    Shukri said "At the moment there will be a tariff varies from substance to another, which will be of 5% and above of the luxury materials and 80% of alcoholic beverages."

    The new law includes a levy duties on imported goods not included in the table of tariffs tariffs by no more than 20% of their value.

    Seems they are implementing tariff's starting Jan 2, 2014, but will be slowly to keep inflation down.

    Also, the specific tariffs we need for WTO qualifications are for commodities and industrials.

    Lit, what about for rv purposes, can u ask duck that?  If they just do tariff on liquor, is that not suff for our needs?

    At least 15% taxes on commodities and industruals.  That would be enough for WTO.
