The Committee on Agriculture and Water in the House of Representatives called on the government to take all possible measures to remove the threat of drought from Iraq.

"The next stage requires the government to exert a great diplomatic effort and take all possible measures to remove the danger of drought from Iraq in any form by communicating with the Turks or even with the international community," said Fratt al-Tamimi, head of the committee.

Al-Tamimi added: "The Alesso dam can cause serious damage to the water entering Iraq, and the other damage to agriculture and may exceed drinking water."

He asked the Chairman of the Committee on Agriculture that the next House of Representatives role in the formulation of the water policy of the country.
