Turkish Prime Minister Ben Ali Yildirim said on Saturday that his country would not allow the United States to use the Incirlik air base to strike Iran, pointing out that the latter had been Turkish's neighbor for six centuries.
Yildirim said in a press statement that "the agreement between the two parties does not allow the United States to use this rule, only to fight terrorism."
"The rule can never be used by America to strike a country," he said, recalling Ankara's refusal to use Washington's bases for strikes on Iraq in 2003.
Yildirim stressed that "Iran has been a neighbor of Turkey for six centuries," stressing that "it is inconceivable that Ankara would provide support for a war against its neighbors." Ending / 25
