The US ambassador to Canada receives a white powder envelope and threats

US Ambassador to Canada Kelly Kraft received a mail envelope containing white powder and threats, CTV television reported Saturday.
"The letter to Kraft was received by the embassy last Thursday," the channel said, adding that "an analysis of the powder in the envelope does not represent any danger."
CTV said the author threatened the ambassador with death if she did not step down, as well as threats to US President Donald Trump.
"Canadian and US bodies are investigating the incident," the channel said.
Relations between the United States have been strained in recent weeks, after Trump was listed as a US target for imports of steel and aluminum. In addition, talks between the United States, Canada and Mexico over the modernization of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) have stalled , a move that the US president insists is necessary.
Last week, Trump harshly criticized Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, accusing him of setting up "unfair" trade barriers to the United States.
