Advanced steps for the government to confine arms to the state

Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Dr. Haider al-Abadi, announced on Sunday the steps taken by the government to limit weapons to the government, stressing the importance of maintaining the neutrality of the armed forces and keeping them away from political differences and conflicts.
Abadi said in a statement that "the Prime Minister met with security and military leaders at the headquarters of joint operations and exchanged congratulations on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr."
"Abadi congratulated this holiday, which is the first Eid after the liberation of the entire Iraqi territory from the terrorist gangs and the victory of our heroic fighters, martyrs and wounded and the fatwa of Sayyid al-Sistani," he said.
"Abadi renewed his assertion that the weapons are in the hands of the state and that any weapon outside this framework is considered a weapon of chaos and that work is under way to limit weapons."
Abadi said that "the second battle is with corruption and the security establishment must be removed from any manifestations of corruption and remain fair and above suspicions," stressing that "the investigation is conducted in any suspicion."
He stressed the importance of the intelligence effort and its very important role during the next phase and the pursuit of terrorist cells.
