The head of the Parliamentary Legal Committee Mohsen al - Sadoun, on Friday, that the Federal Court 's decision on the elections and the recent meetings of the Council of Representatives was an important historical event, pointing out that the count and the hand count decision and a fair decision in line with the Constitution.

Al-Saadoun said in an interview with Alsumaria News that "what happened in the Federal Court yesterday represents an important historic event on the grounds that there are sharp differences in the electoral process led to major political upheaval." The court considered three appeals to the President of the Republic and the Electoral Commission and the Kurdistan Democratic Party.

Al-Saadoun added that "the court responded to the petition and agreed to challenge the Kurdistan Democratic Party linked to the cancellation of the voices of the displaced and abroad and the special vote in the Kurdistan region ," pointing out that "the decision was fair and we believe that counting and sorting by hand is a regulatory action and violates the Constitution,

The Federal Court announced on Thursday (June 21, 2018) its support for the third amendment to the electoral law voted by parliament on June 6, while noting that the cancellation of the results of the elections abroad and displaced people is not true.
