Judge Jaafar al-Moussawi, spokesman for Muqtada al-Sadr, said that the convening of the first session of the new parliament, depends on the decision of the Electoral Commission for all appeals and complaints.
Moussawi said in a press statement that Article 54 of the Constitution provides that the President of the Republic calls the new House of Representatives to be convened by a presidential decree.
He added that the date of the first meeting, will be within fifteen days, from the date of ratification of the election results, by the Federal Court, headed by the oldest member.
