    The technical agent in the ministry Jaber Abdul-Hassani said in an interview with "Baghdad Post" that "the project of water in Basra is in its final stages of completion and it is hoped to open a pilot early next month with an initial capacity of 200 thousand cubic meters per day of local water (RO), and hopefully High capacity to 600 thousand cubic meters during the next period. "


    Al-Hassani warned of "the occurrence of an environmental and health disaster, especially in the central and southern governorates because of the completion of sewage projects, which reached a different completion rates, as the oldest people to connect networks, although incomplete, which led to the decline of sewage, Linking their networks with the rain streams and thus all the waste in the rivers and spills. "


    He pointed out that "salinity in the Shatt al-Arab has risen to large levels and there is no treatment for them. Moreover, industrial and health facilities such as hospitals put about 1 million cubic meters of untreated water directly into rivers, and further exacerbated the water crisis. Country ".


    Al-Hassani called on the government to "attach great importance to this issue, through monitoring the allocations required to complete the projects of sanitation contracted to implement in 15 provinces, amounting to Trilliona and 500 billion dinars before the exacerbation of the problem of pollution more and the occurrence of a humanitarian disaster in the presence of the water crisis," noting that " The ministry has received decisions from the Council of Ministers on funding, but the Ministry of Finance has not released any money so far, which prevents the completion of the work of those projects.
