    The Committee on Economy and Investment parliamentary, that Iraq's external debt reached until the end of last year to 117 billion dollars.


    The committee member Najeeb Najib said in a press statement that "the Committee formally requested from the Ministry of Finance in late 2017, foreign debt statements confirmed on Iraq and found it $ 117 billion," noting that "the International Monetary Fund expected to increase the external indebtedness of Iraq To 136 billion dollars during the current year. "


    She added that "the government pays annually in the general budget of those debts, which vary between internal and external loans, some of which was agreed to pay a smooth part of the interest, and some of them judicial claims and other related to the compensation of Kuwait," indicating that "in 2016-2017, Investment through external loans for infrastructure projects. "
