The leader of the Sadrist movement Moqtada al-Sadr called on Sunday to cut off the emergency power lines allocated to the headquarters of political parties and politicians, while confirming his support for the demands of citizens regarding the demands of electricity.

"I declare my solidarity and sympathy with the people and demand that all the emergency lines that go under their light be destroyed and rejected by corrupt politicians," Sadr wrote in a tweet at the social networking site Twitter.

Several provinces in the country are witnessing a significant decline in electricity, in conjunction with the rise of temperatures that reach 50 degrees Celsius in the southern governorates, which led to the emergence of angry demonstrations in Najaf, Basra, Maysan and Wasit, and clashes between demonstrators and security forces, resulting in casualties .
