TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran has refused to ratify two draft laws on Iran joining two international treaties on combating terrorism financing, money laundering and cross-border crimes, a spokesman for Iran's Guardian Council said on Wednesday.

The Iranian newspaper IRNA quoted the official spokesman of the Guardian Council as stressing the rejection of two projects submitted by the government and deliberated by the Iranian parliament to discuss their ratification of Iran's accession to the FATF and Palermo international treaties on the fight against sources of financing terrorism, money laundering crimes and transnational organized crimes such as trafficking in human beings and arms smuggling .

He said that the government tried to circumvent the judiciary, and hastened to submit two bills to the parliament in order to pass them and ratify them to ease the international pressure on them.
