Basra Council: 1600 commercial companies in the province belonging to political figures

A member of the Basra provincial council Karim Shawak said on Thursday that more than 1600 commercial companies owned by the personalities and influential political parties in the province.
Shawak said in a press statement today that "more than 1600 companies in the province of Basra, some of them belong to politicians and leaders and personalities."
And on the measures taken by the federal government to contain the "angry" protests in Basra from the launch of jobs, said Shawak, "The mechanism of distribution of employment, which was announced by the Ministerial Committee is unprofessional and ill-considered."
The provinces of central and southern Iraq for more than 10 days protest demonstrations calling for improving the reality of living and services and the elimination of unemployment and financial and administrative corruption rampant in the departments and institutions of the state.
