The deputy commander of the Iranian army for coordination, Admiral Habibullah Sayari, said that his country will respond firmly if any kind of aggression.
"The military and military units are ready to respond to any threat to the land, air and sea borders," the military commander said. "The enemies will face a firm response in the event of any kind of aggression," ISNA news agency reported.
"Iran is facing an economic and soft war with the enemies, but the army forces stand firmly in front of the enemies to maintain order and are always ready for that."
"We conduct maneuvers steadily throughout the year and on the orders and orders of the commander-in-chief of the armed forces, the army is constantly strengthening its capabilities," Sayari said.
Iran has threatened to close the Strait of Hormuz if it can not sell its oil because of US pressure, while the United States declared that it is ready to ensure the freedom of navigation "where international law allows.
The US military vowed on Thursday to maintain free shipping for tankers in the Persian Gulf after Iran threatened to close the Strait of Hormuz to oil tankers.
On May 8, President Donald Trump announced the withdrawal of the nuclear deal signed in 2015 between Tehran and the group of permanent members of the Security Council, as well as Germany, which restricts Iran's nuclear program in peaceful uses in return for the lifting of Western sanctions.
Trump also announced the reinstatement of economic sanctions against Tehran, and the companies and entities it deals with.
The Israeli site "Debka" claimed that a number of US and Israeli military leaders met secretly in Washington, DC on June 29, to prepare a secret plan.
The plan, entitled "Iran Project", according to the site "Debka Israeli", which quoted military and intelligence sources as saying that "the preparation of the plan coincides with the current US campaign against Iran, and the possibility of full war between Iran and Israel.
The report said the plan was a "quick task force" to take decisions on attacking nuclear installations, ballistic missiles and other combat and military sites inside and outside Iran.
"General Natzan Allon, commander of operations in the Israeli army, was appointed head of the project at the request of Israeli Chief of Staff General Gadi Eisenkot, who participated in meetings with the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Joseph Danford."
The site revealed that during the meetings in Washington, it was agreed to form four command groups within the "Iran Project", a nuclear command group whose task is to locate nuclear weapons, plutonium reactors, uranium plants, enrichment sites and centrifuges inside Iran.
The second group's task is to deal with Iranian ballistic missiles, including launch pads, underground stores, production plants and research centers. The third group's mission covers secret and public military operations against Iranian military and intelligence centers in the Middle East, including Syria, Lebanon and Yemen.
The group is charged with implementing economic sanctions against Iran, and Israel will contribute to providing intelligence on Tehran's attempts to break those sanctions, the sources said.
